In the United States. The database runs on Neon in AWS US-East (Ohio), and the app and website are hosted on Netlify.
Yes. Everything travels over encrypted connections (TLS). The database is encrypted at rest with AES-256. The keys to your connected email, calendar and billing accounts get a second layer of AES-256-GCM encryption before they are stored.
No. Unmanually does not train AI models on your data and does not sell it. The AI providers that do the work are listed below, with links to their own data terms.
When Unmanually calls a lead back, no audio is recorded; it keeps a written transcript so you can see what was said. Calls and texts to your own business number are transcribed so they can be answered, and the transcripts stay with your account until you delete them.
Our speech provider, Deepgram, may currently keep part of call audio and transcripts to improve its speech models. Deepgram offers an opt-out for this; ask us for its status before you put client calls through it.
In all-party consent states such as California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Washington, the app reminds you to ask the other person before a call is transcribed. If a caller asks, it says plainly that it is an AI.
Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Each person on your team has their own seat and login, and only the account owner can delete the business. You set in plain words what needs your OK first, nothing that spends money or cannot be undone happens without it, and outgoing emails, texts and invoices wait in an undo window. Everything it does is logged so you can check its work.
The account owner can delete the whole business in the app under More, Settings, Delete account: the plan is cancelled and every record belonging to the firm is deleted. Billing records we are required to keep are the exception. You can also email [email protected].
Not yet, and we would rather say so plainly. We do not sign HIPAA business associate agreements, so do not use Unmanually for protected health information. The providers we rely on for the database, sign-in and payments (Neon, Clerk and Stripe) are audited for SOC 2.

If we confirm a security incident that affects your data, we tell you without undue delay, with what happened, what data was involved and what we are doing about it.
