Gutter work comes in two short seasons, is priced by the foot and the story, and gets rained out. Here is how to score software for that, and what quote speed is worth in one fall.
Quick answer: Good gutter business software quotes from an address by linear foot and story, groups cleanings into routes, reschedules a rained-out day in one step and reminds last season's customers. In our worked example, quoting on the call instead of the next day is worth 36 more jobs, about $8,100, in one fall rush.

Gutter business software has to fit a trade that most field service tools weren't designed around. Cleaning is a high-volume, small-ticket job that piles up in two short seasons, after the leaves drop in fall and again in spring. Installation is priced by the linear foot, by downspout and by story height, often measured before anyone climbs a ladder. Guards are the upsell that turns a one-time cleaning into a bigger ticket. And rain or ice reshuffles the whole week.
So the question isn't which software has the most features. It's which one handles the October rush without the owner losing evenings to quotes and reschedules.
Score each line 0 to 3 in the trial and multiply by the weight for your side of the business. The weights are ours.
| What to test | Weight: cleaning | Weight: installs | Your score (0-3) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quote from an address: roof measurement or aerial import, priced by linear foot and story | 2 | 3 | |
| Price rules for stories, downspouts, guards and roof pitch, so office staff quote the same way you do | 3 | 3 | |
| Route planning that groups cleanings by neighborhood | 3 | 1 | |
| Spring and fall reminders to last season's customers, with one-tap rebooking | 3 | 1 | |
| Weather rescheduling: move a day of jobs and text every customer at once | 3 | 2 | |
| Before and after photos attached to the invoice | 2 | 2 | |
| Deposits and color and material selection for seamless gutter installs | 1 | 3 | |
| Two-way sync with your accounting software | 2 | 2 |
These are assumptions for illustration; put in your own numbers. A two-crew company gets 120 cleaning inquiries between mid-October and Thanksgiving. If the inquiry is answered and quoted while the homeowner is still on the phone, assume 60% book. If it's called back the next evening, after they've reached two other companies, assume 30% book. With a $225 average cleaning ticket:
| Line | How it's worked out | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Booked when quoted on the call | 120 × 60% | 72 jobs |
| Booked when called back next day | 120 × 30% | 36 jobs |
| Difference | 72 − 36 | 36 jobs |
| Revenue difference in one season | 36 × $225 | $8,100 |
That's before guard upsells and the repeat customer next spring. Real-world numbers point the same way: home-service callers reach a person only about 52% of the time, and 45% of leads who do get through convert on that call (Invoca, July 2026). In gutter cleaning, where most jobs are priced from the address and the story count, there's no reason a quote should wait until tomorrow.
The worst time to switch gutter software is the second week of November. Load it in late summer: import last year's customers with their address, story count, linear feet and what you charged, so a returning customer is quoted the same price in seconds. Build your price rules once (per foot by story, per downspout, guard add-on, a steep-pitch surcharge, a minimum ticket) and test them against ten past jobs. Group your service area into route days, so a new booking lands on the day you're already on that street. Then write the two messages you'll send most: the fall reminder to last year's customers, and the rain-day reschedule. With that done, the rush is booking and climbing, not typing.

Unmanually is a 24/7 AI Office Manager for gutter companies that you run by voice. It answers every call and text, asks how many stories, how many downspouts and whether there are guards, quotes from your price rules on the live call and books the cleaning on the right route day. When rain moves a day, say so and it reschedules and tells every customer. It sends invoices, chases payment and contacts last season's customers before the next one. See Unmanually for gutter companies.
The one that matches your mix: cleaning companies need address-based quotes, routes, weather rescheduling and seasonal reminders; install companies need linear-foot pricing, material and color selection and deposits. Score each trial with a weighted worksheet.
Many can price from an address using story count, linear feet from an aerial measurement and downspout count. Test it on five past jobs and compare with what you actually charged.
In our worked example, 120 fall inquiries quoted on the call instead of the next day book 36 more cleanings, about $8,100 at a $225 ticket (assumptions; use your own numbers).
Most doesn't. Unmanually answers every call, quotes from your price rules and books the job on the right route day.
Home service businesses answer only about half their calls (Invoca, July 2026), and owners spend about 11 to 16 hours/week on admin. Knowing what to do is the easy part; the money leaks out in the calls you can't take, the quotes nobody chases and the invoices that sit unpaid. Unmanually is a 24/7 AI Office Manager for gutter companies that you run by voice from your phone:
Sources: Invoca, July 2026 (52% of home-service calls answered by a person, 60M+ calls); admin hours: Time etc / Censuswide 2023 and Amex SME Barometer 2026.
Unmanually is an AI Office Manager that works 24/7 and that you run by voice from your phone. Leave your mobile number and the AI Office Manager calls you right away, the same way it would call back one of your customers. That call is the demo: it answers, books you a 15-minute time with the founder and follows up.
