Terms of Service

Effective date: August 14, 2026  ·  Applies to: unmanually.com and the Unmanually application

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Unmanually ("Unmanually," "we," "us") governing your use of unmanually.com and the Unmanually application (together, the "Services"). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you don't agree, don't use the Services.

If you're using the Services on behalf of a business, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms, and "you" refers to that business as well as you individually.

2. The service

Unmanually lets you assemble and configure AI agents ("agents") organized into departments, to perform tasks for your business. The Services are provided on an ongoing, evolving basis — features, pricing tiers, and agent capabilities may be added, changed, or removed over time as described on our pricing page.

3. Accounts

Account creation and sign-in are handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe, on the cycle (monthly or annual) you select at checkout. Then-current pricing, including any founding-pricing terms, is shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe. Annual founding pricing, where offered, is locked for as long as your subscription remains active and uninterrupted.

Our 60-day satisfaction guarantee: if the Services aren't saving you real time within your first 60 days, we'll convert the remaining prepaid balance of your plan into account credit. This doesn't cover automation runs you've already used, since that reflects real infrastructure cost already incurred.

You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time through the billing portal linked from your account. Except where required by law or stated otherwise (like the guarantee above), fees already paid are non-refundable. The "Do It For Me" tier is billed under a separately agreed custom quote, which these Terms also govern except where the specific quote states otherwise in writing.

If you were referred by an existing customer, any referral or affiliate discount, trial period, or commission applies under the terms shown at signup and in our affiliate program materials — those specific terms may change prospectively without changing what you already agreed to at signup.

5. AI agents, autonomy & your responsibility

Agents you configure can act at different trust levels, from requiring your explicit approval on every action to running autonomously. You control which trust level each agent runs at, and you're responsible for the actions your agents take once you grant them that level of autonomy — including any actions taken by an agent you've set to run without per-action approval. Review an agent's activity and trust-tier settings before increasing its autonomy, especially for actions involving your customers, money, or external accounts.

Agents may call third-party AI models and services to do their work. We take reasonable steps to build safeguards (like tiered approval gates) into the product, but we don't guarantee that an agent's output or actions will always be accurate, appropriate, or error-free — that's why the approval controls exist, and why higher autonomy is something you opt into deliberately, not a default.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Services to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

7. Intellectual property

We own the Services, including the underlying software, design, and branding. You own the content and configuration data you create within your account (for example, your department/agent setup and any business data you provide). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the Services to you.

8. Third-party services

The Services rely on third-party providers, including Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), our database/hosting providers, and one or more AI model providers. Your use of the Services is also subject to those providers' own terms where they interact directly with you (for example, Stripe's terms govern your payment method on file). We aren't responsible for outages or issues originating from third-party providers, though we'll work to route around them where reasonably possible.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that agent outputs will always be accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unmanually won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Services and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, including the acceptable use section above. On termination, your right to use the Services ends, though provisions that by their nature should survive (like sections 7, 9, 10, and 12) will continue to apply.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Unmanually is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise (for example, for consumers in certain jurisdictions).

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above; for significant changes affecting existing subscribers, we'll provide more prominent notice (for example, via email). Continued use of the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

This document is a plain-language draft covering our actual product and business practices, not a substitute for legal advice. It should get a pass from a lawyer — particularly the governing-law, liability, and arbitration/dispute-resolution language — before being treated as a final, binding compliance artifact, especially once real payments and business-customer data are involved at scale.
